Welcome!

We are Ryedale Sports Club. We’re run entirely by volunteers, a local club for local people. We’ve been providing sports facilities for the people of Ryedale since 1960. And we’re not here to make a profit – any money we make is ploughed straight back into the club.

We’re easy to find, just off the A170 between Pickering & Thornton-le-Dale. Look for the “Sports Field” road signs & you’ll find us – postcode YO18 7JX. Or if you use What 3 Words, we’re at scare.zone.ratio.

If you want to increase your level of activity, but don’t want to try to persuade yourself to go to the gym – again… If you want to do something you’d enjoy in the company of like-minded people, rather than do something because you probably should, because it’s ‘good for you’… then give us a go. A sport you enjoy should be fun, not a chore. That way you keep at it.

Don’t think you’re too old, or too unfit, to start. At one time, we had (or perhaps still have) three active members whose ages totalled 250, I’m told – that’s not bad going. And croquet in particular is described as a non-strenuous low-impact game. (If in doubt, consult your GP first.)

Currently we have people enjoying themselves playing croquet, football, table tennis & tennis. We’re involved in local leagues too, so some of us get out as far as Hutton-le-Hole, Helmsley, York, even Whitby!

As a not-for-profit organisation, we think we provide excellent value for money. At present, adult membership is £50 p.a., with junior & family memberships also available. That’s less than £1 per week. Thanks here must go to all the enthusiastic people who help us keep costs down by doing maintenance, organising, fund-raising, etc.

For more details, please select the sport you’re interested in from the menu or click on a picture.
